Inspired by the Mexican death cult, but also by the tradition of skull painting from Hallstatt, I painted the skulls of deer to pay my final respects. Also interesting is the meticulous documentation of the kill by the hunter. The animal’s age, weight, sex, location, and date of the kill are recorded on a green appendix.
